Four Bills Aimed At Hit-And-Run Drivers To Be Signed (Hopefully) By Governor Brown

Hit-and-run accidents are quite common in the Bay Area, often rendering the victim lacking financial recourse for their injuries.  As I have written about earlier on this blog site, motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists can protect themselves financially against such an occurrence by purchasing high limits of uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.  The California legislature has passed four bills designed to deter hit-and-runs in the future, and they await Governor Brown’s signature.  We applaud the legislature’s work and urge further action.  However, all the bills in the world will not have a deterrent effect unless the CHP, local police, and local district attorneys enforce these laws.
